12 – 18 months of age
An Early Years Language Development Programme
A wonderful programme that will give your child a head start at communicating in English.
Incorporating relevant aspects of Phase 1 Letters and Sounds Phonics Programme,
taught through play.
The first months of life are crucial for language development. Between 8-14 months, a baby will respond to simple requests and understand 10-15 words. From 12-18 months there will be a huge difference as the child begins to respond with words and gestures to express wants and needs.
With a strong focus on activities underpinned by early, relevant phonics, we will use the Letter and Sounds Synthetic Phonics Programme from England. The course will help your child to “tune into” the rhythm of the English language as we introduce the children to Letters and Sounds Phase 1 aspects including: rhymes, rhythm, listening skills and alliteration.
The Playgroup Toddler Talk programme will not only provide play activities to develop your babies receptive and expressive language, but will also give insight to parent / carers in developing your understanding of language development, ensuring your child has the very best language experience possible.
